Deconstructing Pain Master Course Series
If you’ve spent any amount of time in the clinic, you’ve encountered (and likely struggled with) patients with persistent pain. We all have at one point. This course series is designed for those clinicians who have had their abilities severely stretched and tested treating these patients.
This course series has one goal: to help participants get RESULTS with the persistent pain population.
There are so many challenges inherent in persistent pain:
How do you know they have persistent pain?
How can you figure this out?
How can you communicate this to them in a non-threatening manner?
And most of all, is there anything to do other than JUST TALKING? 🤔
Over two weekends, participants will learn the answers to these questions and more via a series of engaging lectures, and intense expert-led lab practice. This series goes beyond concepts, and gets directly into the details.
Participants will learn:
How to use advanced subjective & objective examination techniques to secure a diagnosis
How to classify patients based on pain type
How to explain the diagnosis
How to implement biopsychosocial interventions with your patients
How to update your current treatment approach in harmony with the biopsychosocial model
How to treat the whole person, and leverage other members of treatment team
In short, participants will learn how to prevent clinician (and patient) burnout via a research-based, clinic-tested, systematic approach to assessing and treating persistent pain. If you’ve ever been left scratching your head after treating a pain patient, this is the course series for you.
